San Destin

We made our first family trip to SanDestin resort for our memorial day weekend getaway. It was a much needed restful weekend for Ben and I, and  we got to enjoy our Landon at the beach with no stress ,and just pure chill time.

first unexpected beach trip!

Our grandma Pat, Landons Great Grandmother, passed away last month. In honor of her, we all flew down to Pompano Beach, FL for her memorial. It was a beautiful memorial and I feel Grandma Pat would have been pleased with the family love that was represented last weekend. Our hotel was right on the beach, and we had an opportunity to sepnd some time at the beach and the pool while we were down visiting with family. This was unexpected for us, so we had to take a trip to target to buy the necessary outside water gear for Landon. we ended up getting it all, and I then felt comfortable taking our little love out to the pool for the first time ever.. he handled it great and loved splashing in the water.. we then braved the ocean, which he handled like a champ as well. He loved the waves and the sand and just sitting in the water. I was a little anxious the whole time, making sure he wasnt getting too overstimulated or scared, but he just really appeared to love it. We didnt want to spend too much time outside in the sun, so we headed up to our hotel after about 3o-45 minutes and Landon had a fabulous long nap.. the rest of our short weekend was spent hanging out with fantastic family we hadnt had a chance to see for a while, and enjoyed every bit of it.. for the majority of people, it was their first time meeting Landon, and I know he made a great first impression and everyone welcomed him with lots of love, hugs and kisses.

Landon has had a whole avocado,  peas , sweet potatoes, baby squash, broccoli and carrots so far! He has also had a TASTE of pears, and didnt like em much.. we will try them again soon though!

Eating Rice Cereal!!!

About a week ago, we started our first taste of organic brown rice cereal, and Landon just loved it! He now opens his mouth in a perfect "O" Shape when he is sitting in his high chair and we are stirring his rice cereal mixed with breast milk. Im so proud of him, and cant believe hes on his way to eating regular table foods like us! What  a great journey this is!

Birthday weekend!

We had a great, busy weekend! Grandma Sallies birthday was March 5th, and we were so happy to celebrate it with her on saturday and sunday.. we had a great visit with her and Grandpa Alex and cant wait till April to do it again.. We also spend Saturday early afternoon with Olivia, who turned one. Jenny,is Olivias mom, and Cindys friend from college. We had  a great time there as well, and Landon enjoyed seeing other babies his age and a little older..

Landon has started really getting attached to his lovey... its the cutest thing ever.. he has one for his crib.. its white, and one he travels with.. which gets washed  a lot.. its blue!

yay! tonight was the first night that we were able to do what we have been trying to do.. we did the whole routine thing that worked!! we had a wonderful sunday out and about, (Landon got his FIRST KISS FROM A GIRL at starbucks.. a 2 1/2 year old came up and was fascinated with him, then after we were done chatting with her and her mom, they were on their way out, and the little girl (Kenzie) asked if she could hug, THEN kiss him! - of course we let her and she went on her way!) Landon is quite the ladies man, already)then we came home- nursed, did story time and laid Landon into his crib with his mobile and turned out his lights.. he went to sleep! hes been sleeping for 3 hours now!!  we are so excited! hopefully this continues!

Ben and I have always enjoyed working out together at the gym, and it makes it so much easier to do, since there are great childcare providers there.. everyone is always so sweet to him, and Jenny especially takes an intereest in him and shares his experience with us through pics she takes while we are working out..

Fun with Friends

On Thursday, Landon and I went to lunch with Jessica and Alex Cornwell. We met them at Olive garden and had a wonderful lunch, with great company. Landon was sleeping in his carseat until more than halfway through, and then Alex started getting sleepy.. they are gonna have to work on their social skills! But we did manage to snap some shots while at lunch! Alex and Landon are buddies while at the babysitter, Miss Diana, during the week. Then on Saturday, our friends, Gregg and Jessica brought their little boy Dean over to play! This is the first time that they got to meet Landon and we had a great visit.. it took Dean some time to warm up to Landon, but by the end, we could tell they will definately be future gamecock pals!

Landons 4 month appointment!

Today was our love's 4 month check up which included his second set of immunizations :(. However Landon handled them like a champ! He is 17 lbs and 6 oz = 95% for weight and 26 inches 78% for height! He is still exclusively breastfeeding and we are hoping to continue that till about 6 months, then it is on to the goood stuff.. fun with food! We cant wait! Landon still also has  cough ( 3 weeks now), which the doctor wasnt too worried about, but the purulent nasal discharge which has been going onto the end of the 2nd week, will require an antibiotic if still continuing into the weekend, so we will see how it plays out!~He is getting to be so fun with his squeels, laughs and huge smiles! This parenthood thing gets better and better everyday, with such an amazing son!

Valentines Weekend!

`We had such a wonderful, relaxing snowy weekend at a little getaway called chateau elan in north Georgia.. it was really a much needed getaway for Ben and I. Although our little angel was with us, it only enhanced our experience.. Landon is getting so much more fun and entertaining. We are thoroughly enjoying this journey.

Landon's first snow

Okay, actually its his second since he has been born, but we werent able to capture the moment :) Today all schools were closed for the big snow, but it didnt start snowing until around noonish, and THEN we got the snow day too. Same thing happened at Ben's job. so Ben and I got to meet up for a starbucks date and a stop at the jewelry store before picking up our baby boy from Miss Dianas. We had a great time letting him feel the snowflakes on his skin and seeing the blanket of white everywhere.

Happy New Year 2010!!

We are excited for the new year and all it has in store for us! We have started out well,with Cindy starting back to work full time and Landon adjusting well to his babysitter Miss Diana and her wonderful family and children who are all getting to know our little baby boy so well!! Ben is doing well at his job as a vascular sonographer and we are both trying to find time to make it to the gym to become more healthy for the new year!!
